The Democratic State Central Committee met
at the Palmer house in this city on the Uth day of
March, 1S90. and authorized the iatnanos of the
following call :
The democrats of TlVnols will meet In state
convention at (Springfield on Wednesday, Jnne 4,
1890, for the purpose of nominating candidates for
the fol'owine state ofBeers to be voted for on Tues
day, November 4th, 1890, to wit ;
One Superintendent of Public Instruction, and
Three Trustees of the University of Illinois
At the meeting of the state central committee
the following resolntion was passed, and an ex-
firession of views, as in said resolution asked. Is
nrited. The chairman and secretary of each
connty convention are requested to report the ac
tion of their respective conventions to the ecre
rary of the tate central committee as soon as it
may he had. The resolution is as follows:
'"Inasmuch as the propriety of noininatin? a
candidate for the United Mates senate by the
state convention has been extensively agitated
throughout the state, it is suggested to county
conventions, to consider the expediency of such
