TRIAL O'BRIEN AND DILLON.
Lively Title In Tlpperary The Police
and Populace at War.
London, Sept. 3li.-Tb.ere was a row at
Tipperary yesterday on the occasion of the
opening of the trial of O'Hrien and Dillon.
The town was full of Nationalists, come
to witness the trial, and when the magis
trates decided to Hdmit no one to the
conrt room except those immediately in
terested, the populace demurred, and at
tempted to go into the courtroom any
how. This was resisted by the police, and
clubs were freely used. Nearly every man
from the neighboriu-; country carried a
blackthorn, but it does not appear that
any pulicemen were hurt.
Prominent Men Clnlibed.
But some of the Home Rule members
of pnrliunient were not so fortunate.
Timothy Harrington received n blow on
the heud, as did a gentleman named Hali
fax. On the way to the court room crowds
blocked the streets and ll.e poli. e ordered
them to move on. In one knot oT people
were .lohu M irley and oih. r Knglislmien
who nre in Ireland looking for ammuni
tion with which to attack the govern
ment, mid when told : move oil tl't'oii
nor. M. K for Sonih 'I ipernry, showed
Iris conteiiip; fur the pol.-'y calling for
three cheers for Morley. This" brought on
a fracas, in the course of w hich Moriey
nearly cnnie in for a sore he.td, Dillon iri-U-rposing
iu time to save him.
"if Scene in lli. Cmiri It.mm.
When llarriiigton an I Halifax apeared
in the court room with blood staining
their collars there was in iich indignation
expressed by the Horn- Rulers. .Mor
iey adilre-sed the couit ani denounced the
police. After a great deal of talk the mag
istrates agreed to let the populace in. and
the room was mm packed. The first move
of the accused was to object, to the magis
trates. IHI.m wniite t Magistrate Slian
non to vacate the liench. Ix-cniise the two
had at one time in tiie past had a person i
encMiiiiter. O'Hrien also wante I Shan
non to drop out because he had tried the
editor on three other oe -asions, and lie
cause he hail seen him heading the police
who were quelling a riot.
The AVarrnnls Amended.
But Shannon could not. sen in thes
facts any reason why he should step
down, and refused to so. The trial at last
liegHii and the first thing the magistrates
did was to permit the warrants to be
amended, a move the accuse.! rigorously
opposed, as it would enable the crown to
include new charges wit hont notice. They
considered it evidence of the crown's in
tention to conduct the case in n high
handed and arbitrary manner. On the
ot her hand the def.no will keep the c is -s
np as long as possible in order to make
political capital.
Jlrle lliKhly Indignant.
John Moriey is much wrought up over
his personal olrw-rvation of Irish p,ilic-.
methods, and stigmatized the bharir of
the constables as "damnable." He de
Clares he will raise the que-itioii in pnrlia
merit as to the necessity of checking such
brutalities.
The Audience Took a Hand.
Honan. government counsel, then pro
ceeded to site the a-e uiiMinst the de
fendants. He gave a history of t lie doings
of the league in issy. He was subjected
to a continuous series of comments and
interruptions from the audience. Timo
thy Healy. counsel for the defense, de
nounced the whole proceedings as a pal
puble sham.

been made, and that, too by a lady in
this country. Disease fastened its

She bought of us a bottle of Dr. King's

Instant Relief.
The great merit of lleii'a Ger
man Cough and Kidney Cure
is its instantaneous action; on
does not have to take it a month
before one perceives its good
effects. A single dose often
produces beneficial Jesuits,
while a bottle will . cure the
worst cold. When lhere is
chronic difficulty it is best to
persevere ia taking it until a
permanent cure 13 effected; but
it is certain to help the very
worst cases if persisted in. It
is unrivalled in this particular.
Every one who has takn it is
satisfied with it, aud this is cne
of its strongest recommenda
tions. In lumbago, a pain in
the back, it aits at once, and re
lieves the sufferer. The snd
den changes in the summer,
caused by the severe storms
that set in from the northwest,
aie greatljr provocative of colds
that show themselves in colic,
diarrhoea, bilious attacks, etc.,
Reid's German Cough and Kid
ney Cure at once reieves the
patient and checks the maladj".
In all cases of this kind it is
simply invaluable. No house
hold shou'd be without it, be
cause a dose taken at the be
ginning of a difficulty will re
store tone to the system and en
able the stomach to throw off
the morbid poison that is inita
ting it. There is neither mor
pbine; opium, nor anv otht-r
poison in.it, so that there is no
atter ettects to overcome; on the
contrary the whole digestive
and circulatory system' is In
better ehap to resist disease
than it was before. A bottle of
this great remedy should there
fore always be kept on hand.
It is invaluable for invalids.
