When the United .States govern
ment took control of the World's
Columbian exposition last October,
on the occasion of the dedication, a
board of control was appointed to
carry on the work to a successful
completion. One of the lirst acts of
the board was to order a publication
which should give the information
that people are most desirous of ob
taining in connection with an enter
prise now uppermost in the public
mind. The work was given the title
of the '-Otlicial Directory of tin
World's Columbian Exposition,"' ami
active preparations were at once en
tered into. It has now so far pro
gressed as to warren t placing it in
the hands of solicitors for
the purpose if taking- sub
scriptions. It will i-ontain not
onlv very valuable, but also very in
teresting information. Will be illus
trated with about 1O0 full page half
tone engravings, and will contain the
names of every exhibitor, his home
address, what he is exhibiting and
wherr the exhibit may be found at
the exhibition. It is information
which, intending visitors most ur
gently need, and will be highly ap
preciated by the public everywhere.
