•Red Cross Senior Subscription Exceed
ed Last Year. Troy Ave. School
Open for Inspection To-Night.
The total of Red Cross Senior sub
scriptions for the Ventnor city schools
amounted to $121.00. This exceeded
our quota of last year, since that total
ftns $112.00. Those desirous of still
taking out further subscriptions may
do so at the Ventnor City National
Bank.
There will be a meeting of the Fed
erated Boards^ of Education of New
Jersey at Trentoh, Friday, December
2nd. Mr. Wilbur Zitnmerman,* our
local Secretary of the Board, who is
also President of the Federated
Boards, will attend, accompanied by
Mr. H. R'. Jackson, principal of the
local schools. r e ■ r :
The Ventnor City Board of Trade
will hold a meeting in the Troy Ave
nue School Friday evening, December
. 2nd. A number of school boys have
been appointed as ushers, and they
' will also conduct visitors through the
building if they so desire, as the
school is to be open to inspection at
that. time.
The regular moving picture show,
under the direction of the Parent.
Teachers’ Association, will be held at
the Trov Avenue School Saturday eve
ning. December 3rd. at the usual hour.
Collections\were taken for member
ships in the State Teachers’ Associa
tion. Ventnor City schools joined
with 100 ner cent, membership — 31
subscriptions being included in the
list. Of this number, twelve teachers
aye also memheoS 0f the National Edu
cation Association.
The school has received a number
of blotters from the Atlantic City &
Seashore Railroad Comnanv bearing
the familiar Absecon Island map, of
sneciai interest, to pupils beginning
p-oosfrnnhy.

City sends to Atlantic City High
School the following pupils have the

Residents of this city and Atlantic
City recently held a meeting in the
rooms of the Ventnor Trust Co. for
the purpose of forming another Build-1
ing and Loan Association.
Several hundred shares of stock!
•were subscribed for and after the by-1
laws and constitution were adopted
and other preliminary business trans
acted, twenty-four directors were!
elected. j
The officers of the association are: I

SURPRISE PARTY.
Du Relle Gage was given a pleasant
surprise by his mother, Mrs. Du Relle
Gage, at their home at 108 Amherst
avepue, south, in the foim of a stag
•dinner party, in honor of his tenth
birthday. The dining room was ar
tistically decorated and the table was
laden with goodies. The table was set
for six and at each plate was placed
a boutonniere for each of his young
.guests. After dinner all were escort
ed to the theatre, where they spent
the remainder of the evening.
Those present were: Edward Wat
son, Jack Bauer, William Carrington,
William Hoffman, Edward Boise and
Du Relle Gage. .
ENTERTAINS SORORITY.
Mrs. Aubrey Lee Thomas, of 17 Bal
timore avenue? south, entertained the
members of the Twentieth Century
Sorority on Tuesday evening. Those
present included Mrs. Floyd Marshall,
Miss Lelia Wright, Mrs. Frank Shan
er, Mrs. Morris Lynch, Miss Helen,
Kirby, Miss Lotta Beyer, Miss Sara
