Patience on the part of local photoplay fans is at last rewarded with the opening at the Savoy Theatre of Douglas Fairbanks sensational “The Thief of Bag dad.” A special “Bagdad” set ting and prologue as well as mu sical accompaniment by the “Bag dad” symphony orchestra are spe cial features of the matinee and evening performances. The mightiest spectacle ever produced, “The Ten Command ments,” is continuing to hold sway at the Garden Pier Theatre. As an international triumph in motion pictures, the photoplay surpasses the praises of all critics and maintains its claim of the world’s greatest motion picture. Agnes Ayres and Antonio Mo reno are back with us again on the screen of the Virginia Thea tre. Today, tomorrow and Fri day the two stars are featured in “Bluff.” Starting Saturday, Joseph Her gesheimer’s great love classic, “Cytherea,” is featured at the Virginia Theatre. The wonderful cast includes Lewis Stone, Alma Rubens, Irene Rich, Norman Kerry and Constance Bennett. The famous “Eternal City” blazes forth in a glorious array of true ability when Barbara La Marr and Lionel Barrymore com bine efforts on the screen of the Colonial Theatre starting today for a three-day engagement. The vital question of “Why Men Leave Home” is answered definitely and logically in a most interesting and modem photoplay that is coming to the Colonial starting Saturday. The big cast is headed by Lewis Stone and Helene Chadwick. David Belasco’s great comedy success, “Daddies,” is the screen offering at the Ventnor Theatre today for the last times. Mae Marsh is cast in ^he principal role in this delightful screen version of the famous stage play. Today, tomorrow and Friday, Baby Peggy, “Everyone’s Child,” will be seen as the featured player in “Captain January.” This excellent photoplay that has appeal for both the kiddies and the grown-ups, will be presented tomorrow and Friday also on the screen of the Ventnor Theatre. The supporting cast includes Ho bart Bosworth, Lincoln Stedman, Harry T. Morey and Barbara Ten nant. Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the Ventnor Cosmo Hamilton’s newest and greatest novel will be seen in screen form as “Another Scandal.” Lois Wilson is cast in the title role. An exceedingly fine bill is of fered at the Capitol Theatre this and the first part of next week. The famous three million dollar production that almost rivals “The- Ten Commandments” is “After Six Days.” All the spec tacular scenes of early history are most vividly presented in :» tense and dramatic story. The picture ends its engagement Fri day. “The Rejected Woman” at the Capitol beginning Saturday and continuing until Tuesday starring Alma Rubens, Conrad Nagel and Wyndham Standing is a photo play of exceptional power and beauty that offers a dazzling and vivid picturization of our danc ing, petting, jazzing, drinking generation. John Gilbert and Evelyn Brent are starred in “The Lone Chance,” a modern society drama of today, at the Criterion Theatre today for its final presentation. Tomorrow at the Criterion fun lovers will be given their oppor tunity to participate in the grand and glorious All-Comedy Day. An excellent bill of feature comedies is on tap for the big fun feast. An all-star cast is featured in “Broadway Broke,” the fast mov ing story at the Criterion on Fri day and Saturday. “Roulette,” a stirring drama of the devil’s wheel is offered at the Criterion Theatre on Sunday and Monday. The cast includes Mau rice Costello, Edith Roberts, Nor nan Trevor, Montague Love and Eddie Shannon. A remarkable dramatic offer ng is “Floodgates,” the thrilling photoplay drama that is the City Square attraction today and to morrow. The excellent cast is leaded by Jane Thomas and John Lowell. “One Law For The Woman” is the title of the City Square at ;raction for Friday and Saturday. Lewis, popular manager of an Ocean City theatre, the Ventnor Theatre, Bijou, Capitol and Savoy, who is in charge of Peggy’s entertainment all this week, today will be “Ocean Ciiy Day” for the young star. She will welcome her friends in the sister-resort all day today. She will make an appearance tomorrow afternoon at the Bijou Theatre, in connection with her feature picture, “Captain Jan uary,” which has a showing today, Thursday and Friday at the Bijou and a run of two days beginning tomorrow at the Ventnor Theatre.* Baby Peggy has broadcast dur ing her stay here from the con trol station of WIP, Gimbel Brothers in Philadelphia, on the Steel Pier, where she expressed her good wishes to her invisible audience, and the less fortunate tots of the Children’s Seashore Home were given a chance to see their favorite in person.
