The Abseeoh Highlands Grange
held, a “Boosters’ Night” Friday
evening in the grange hall, Abso
eon Highlands. A most interesting
prograin had been arranged by the
committee. The main’feature of
Hie evening was the lftcture given
by Alhin Engstrom, grange lecturer.
A piano solo was played by M.iss
Emily Peterson, and a vocal solo
sung.by Mrs. John Brucklev. ■

Events Are Held
The Ideal schools arc holding j
tryouts lor the representatives who
will be sent to Mays Landing,
April 0, to compete in the County
Arithmetic and Spelling contests.
Last year Northfiekl school repre
sentatives won several prizes,
Principal Charles Kresge hopes to
present competition this year which
will be just as strong. 1
The students r f both Parker ave
nue and Mill road Schools have dis
played a keen Interest in the Health
Crusadds which have been carried'
on for some time in the schools.'
Over two-thirds of the pupils j
succeeded in doing the fifty-foui: |
chores each wepk, which wer«
necessary to win a gold medal. So
many of the students won these
medaTs, that, it was necessary for
Mr. Kresge. to send for more of
them. |
-A number of the local teachers I
have been granted a day or two
for observation of the works in
other schools in the state. These!
observation visits are a part, of the
program of the school authorities,
to enable the teachers to improve j
their methods, and knowledge.

This affair is open to the public.
