Rev. Mr. Moore, of Randolph, Vt.,
has returned after seven years ab
sence, and is looking after a home.
Rev. Mr. Fox, of Pinebluff, is re
covering from a severe attack of sick
ness, and is making plans to remove
to Southern Pines, as mere conven
ient to his work at Pinehurst.
Mr. W. H. Goldsmith, of New Jer
sey, has purchased the Saunders cot
tage on Bennet street. He has re
turned north after a few weeks visit
with his family.
The Lord's Supper will be adminis
tered at the Congregational Church-in
connection with the morning service,
at 10.30, next Sunday.
Visitors from surrounding towns
will find a cordial welcome at Under
wood's Pharmacy. People from Pine
bluff, or elsewhere, will find Pack
ard's ijrape juice at our soda fountain.'

ion school as held in the Opera House

A 4 O'Clock Dinner

Mrs. D. A Pease celebrated her
birthday Saturday by having a 4
o'clock dinner party, the invited
guests being Mr. and Mrs. Temple,
Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Shay,
Mrs. Mattison, MUs Lorena Shay,
Mrs. A. A. MouKon Miss M. T.
Garland, and Miss Marjorie Matti
son. The turkey dinner was
served in fine shape, with entrees
and desserts. The table was beau
tifully decorated with flowers and
terns, the rooms also being decor
ated with flowers, pines, etc. The
whole affair was much enjoyed by

The entertainmei t given by the
Knights of Pythias at the Opera
House Wednesday nignt was a
most successful affair, and was en
joyed by a large number of people.
The broom drill was a pleasing
feature of the occasion, and a
handsome sum was raised..

about the equalization of taxes at
the Board of Trade meeting next

May, N. J., will lead the Sen
ior C E. meeting Sunday
evening at 7 P M at Congre
gational church.
