If you arc satisfied in life there Is very tittle that progress cun hope for from you. It Ih so easy to play the game safe and dothlngH that cause no criticism. Forever work,)hr for a little per sonal advantage and fearing what others rriKht say hits robbed the world of much progress. You can’t play safe and do big things. Woe unto the man who was never criti cized. Pitiful Indeed is the man that, is safe and satillcd. All great living is daring adventure, sailing on perilous setts, facing the mob alone and fearing only God and the right. Not until you are able to ignore upplauseand accept outrageou cirticism and treatment, are you really preapred to serve. Leader ship today means to la* able to take it Men have boon put to death for simply daring to he constructive and progressive. t)f course ii is dangerous to stop out oft! e path of old ideas and customs and rebel against selfish ness in any form. The danger sig nal here does not and can not mean to stop. It can only warn us of the price to he paid You say to me the price may he death. 1 answer he who Is unwilling to walk into the very jaws of death to save Ills fel olwinan and help a cause that will lit up all men is the greatest cow ard I know iw>l safe mid satisfied. Peace, but Dare to be light, true merciful all peace is not glorious and I de spHo a peace soaked in the blood of compromise. Compromise has caused the wreck of the ages. It simply will not settle great isuea. It will not right terrible wrongs. It simply varnishes the truth and loaves humanity on the rocks. 1 do not believe in war. I despise wholesale butchery of human live* for nothing, but I holieve som® wars have ended too oon. Great principles must be fought out, wrong must he completely crush ed and killed. Anything less than compleee death for wrong of every kind simply leaves 11 to someday come back and cure us. To ine the puzzle is so little ap preciation for the few voices that ring true. How can he m®b help to rrucify the Savior who came that they might have life and find It more abundantly. Such a condi tion makes It hard for those who dare to he. Ingratitude !■ a region I cannot explore. I don’t under stand it at al. All the excuses of fered for it seem foolish to me. To go to the bottom of the sea for a person and then be kcked by that peron is beyond m®. Some lower animals never forget a little kindness. A dog will did for the hand that feeds it. Only man seems to be ungrateful. If omehow these Ingratee could only know the result of ther ac tions. Have you helped someone who later stabbed you in back, then you know the harm—lngra titude is the highest hill to climb; but great souls must soale It. In spite of It must dare to be. Dare to be arue, dare to be kind dare to be progressive, dare to be helpful, dare to be a friend to man. Ho when the urge knocks at your door, get up. set sail, launch out and be brave Whither you are go ing maters little, obeying the call, following the path means much. Tou can’t always be sure of a har bor and fortress when you are ser ving others. Buch was the way of those who blazed he path for ut». They set sail upon uncertain dang* crous seas. The battled the storms and faced every enemy. They en dured hardships and uffered agony. They burned their ives to the oek et and even died. Let us remember heir way. Let us remember how they dared to be| Let us remember above all that their deaths, glorious and sacrificial, are still flowering out in rights, privileges opportuuities and happiness for us.
