For a time, everything was per fectly happy until three months later. I grew weary of the country life Wide open spaces, and cow mooing. and pig grunts made me wish it all had not occurred No theatres, no street cars, nothing but miles of plowed farms and chicken cackles and hillside*. I hated to leave daddy and go back to momma.—ls she woufd take me. I though she would should I re-' turn; because I knew blood was thicker than water; but I had my daddy's independence rooted and grounded in me: but the country life gored nearly everyblt of it out of me. When I had spent about two more boring weeks in Armenia. I received a letter It was from mom ma When I opened it, her photo fell to the floor. I picked it up as something snapped within me. I read an inscription on the bottom: ‘ To my little darling from mother " "Un hunh! She’s not so hard af ter all," I muttered with a smile I trembled with home-sickness and longed to be near her; but now that 1 knew she wanted me. It I would make her want all thel harder even though it hurt me as I much as it did her I would stand it to carry out my point of inden ilence Even those horrid scolds would sound like music to me now; bu she must never know it. Another week passed, then another. Still no more letters -aame. and I be came troubled, and wrote her sev eral letters; but tore them up be fore mailing "Maybe she only wrote me once to make me want to see hei." I said to myself "Well I'll show her how strong I am!" 1 determined; but I knew I was growing weaker and weaker. My love for mother was getting the better of me Finall) on Saturday of the fifth week. I received another letter. This time she pleaded with me to come home.
