Wielders Os Knives Bog Down Under Attack Assaults For Past Week Hit Low Level The panzer divisions of the knife weilder hogged down during the past week as police stiffened their drive against carriers of the switchblade weapons. Less than ten persons were victims of the vicious blades. Probably the most serious as sault with a knife during the week occurred Saturday night when Clarence Brown, 33, of 058 Mont calm, slashed his wife in the ab domen during an argument about nor attentions to another man. However, there was anew ap proach in the battle of sticking vic tims with knives. The latest in novation cropped up early Sun day morning when Lcßoy Thomas, 33, 1071 Division, was assaulted by a group of eight or nine white boys with knives. Fortunately Thomas had some mercury in his legs ami wit- nblc to outspeed the youngsters after they had robbed him of s:>. He was pelted with tin cans and stones as he fled to safety. In the case of Juhn Gib-on the assaulter resorted to an ice pick instead of the knife.
