PAGE FOUR TOURISTS ARE COMING ' ’ TO WYOMING (Wyoming State Journal) | Cody is enjoying this year the re- j suits of its efforts to establish the tourist business in Wyoming. Dur ing August there will better than a hundred autos a day from the outside pass thru Cody each day on their way to or from the Yellowstone na tional park. In addition there will be many tourists who arrive by train and go to the Wonderland on the regular stages. It has taken many years of strenuous endeavor and a lot of mon ey to build the roads, or have the gov ernment build them. And it may be said in passing that Park county and its sitizens has spent about as much money as the government to the date on its road building. Hereafter the government may properly be expect ed to do its share and not allow or compel the small community to crip ple itself financally for the benefit of the people as a whole. The order allowing automobiles in the Park was made too late last year to reach the tourists in time. This year with the complete information in advance arrangements were made early and there has been already a stream, of sightseers going in the Cody way to view the greatest na tural wonders in the world. But the Cody road is not sufficient alone to get the travellers who would make the trip if they could go onto the Park by one route and out again on another highway. Many from the south want to go in at the south en trance and go out the east while those who can arrive at the Cody entrance the easiest would prefer to go out by some other way. To re medy this situation arrangements will probably be made in the very near future to build approaches from the West and Smith, improve the north and east entrances, and construct a highway across the divide above Du bois. With these plans under way the park will become readily acces-- sable from any direction and the tra vel through it greatly increased. STRUCK BY LIGHTNING Mesdames W. B. Nuckols and Crop cy were hit by lightning Thursday af ternoon of last week while gathering in the clothes from the line. They were just finishing their task when the lightning struck the clothes line and both women were knocked sense less. Miss Bessie Nuckols was as sisting but she had gone into the house with an armful of clothes. She immediately secured assistance and the ladies were given care. Both are fully recovered. GLYCERINE AND BARK PREVENT APPENDICITIS The simple mixture of buckhorn bark, glycerine, etc, known as Adler i-ka astonishes Cody people. Because Adler-i-ka acts on both lower and up per bowel, one spoonful relieves al most any case of constipation, sour stomach or gas. It removes such sur prising foul matter that a few doses often relieve or prevent appendicitis. A short treatmen helps chronic sto mach trouble. The instant, easy act ion of Adler-i-ka is astonishing. Wes tern Drug Store. N1 You don’t want anybody tell you what kind of clothes to buy; for your build and your business you are the best judge of the correct thing. But you do want somebody who can supply the things you want; the (it, color, pattern, style, that are right. We can do it; we have the clothes, here now, we will fit you properly. Hart Schaffner & Marx made them; you’ll pay $25 or S3O or 35 for the suit; and it will suit. BLACK AND YELLQW TRAIL | a r TOyRISTB INCREASING The tourists ' travel over the Big • Horns at Buffalo is increasing this year and car which goes over is an advertisement for the most scen ic route to the Park. We do not claim that the road across the moun tain at tjiis place is in first-class shape nor as good as it will be by another year, but we do claim that anyone who will make the trip will be well repaid on account of the scenery, which equals that of the Park. South of us the citizens do not seem very strong for the road through Buffalo, but the tourists are coming and will continue to come in spite of the ad verse reports of these people, the tourists themselves advertising the route.—Buffalo Bulletin. j SOCIALIST CONVENTION j Notice is hereby given that the So cialists of Park county, Wyoming, will assemble at Cody, Wyoming, on Tuesday, August 22nd, 1916, at 2 p. m. for the purpose of nominating candi dates for all, or as many of the fol lowing offices as the convention deems advisable, to be voted on at the elec tion to be held in November next, and to transact any other buisness that may become necessary under the laws of the state governing county conven tions: One County Clerk. Yotl can almost sing it, and it would be a great substitute for some college yells we have heard: No roll ’urn No smoke *um, No chew ’urn, No spit ’um. No loaf ’um, No drink ’um (Booze), Heap catch 'um (Bootlegger). No sell ’um (Land), Heap plant ’um (Corn), No spend ’um (Money), Heap kill ’um (Weeds), All 'time save ’um (Baby), i Mebby so, i Catch ’um prize. | DONATES MAPS TO SCHOOLS i C. H. At the Cody meeting of the Wyo ming Press Association the editors and printers assembled discussed var ious ways and means of making their I business more profitable. As one j means of increasing the quantity of I job printing, it was sugested that the ; time had probably arrived when the ! lawyers of the state would be entire jly willing to petition the supreme j court for a change in the rules re | garding briefs. At the present time j briefs in cases before that court may ; be typewritten, a practice that is not common in the United States and one which is not best for all parties con cerned. If briefs were printed, as in other states, lawyers would take greater ; pains in their preparation and con ! dense their arguments into much .smaller compass. Briefs would be all legible; under present conditions the court has been known to 'get car bon copies that could not be deciph ered. Extra copies could be had for the use of the court and attorneys making inquiries about cases. In the great law offices of the na ; tion briefs are printed in a uniform ■ manner, carefully indexed and filed 1 away for reference. They form a I valuable adjunct to the law libraries. Scarcely a subject comes before an i office thus equipped that has not had 1 careful consideration at some former ■ time and much time is thus saved ir. I looking up references. Lastly, and of much importance, is the matter of expanse. The print | ere believe that the expnse bill will j be no greater than under the present labored practice of typewriting the long briefs submitted. The lawyers will be asked to join with the print ers in a petition to the supreme [court to change the rule. We are a j little late in starting, but it is never j too late to mend.
