"" The Optic predicts that the Repub lirian mattv will profit more largely r thn raiblleatlon of the Daily Tribune than any other party, and that' the 'new. organ will have the effect one which is desired of chasing some of our contemporaries rut into the open on every political question that may arise. And for that alone we - will be' thankful. feut we ere still waiting patiently to see an issue of .he Daily Tribune that is to resurrect, reorganize, re juvenate and revivify the glorious Democratic party in New Mexico. Kansas' City Stock Tards- June 7. Cattle- receipts last week amounted to 43,000 head here, heaviest week in several' months, much to the surprise of" nearly all the dealers, whw have been predicting a period of very light supplies in June. A good many grass cattle from the south were included last week, which class declined 25 cents, while fed grades held more steady, losing 10 to 15 cents for the week. Tho supply today is again lib eral for the season, 13,000' head', mar ket steady to 10 higher on fed cat tle; but weak to 10 lower on slippery grass stuff. . Top last week was $7.od, paid for yearlings, ad also for heavy steers. A shipment of the Harris steers from Sterling, Colorado, sold at $6.60 here today, weighing 1377 pounds, and a consignment from T. A. Mostvin. Delta. Colorado, sold at $6.25. Top , natives iibday brought $6.90, and Colorados fed In Kansas $6.70. Choice Colorado feeders sold at $5.25 and $5.50, late last week, and high bred stockers up to $5.50. Condi tion today indicate that higher prle. es may be expected, for fed stuff bal ance of this month, but the position: of grass cattle Is not so safe, depend ing on volume of receipts, and' qua lity of offerings. Sheep and lambs declined 25 50 cents last week, although receipts were only moderate. Run is 7000 to day, market firm, but nothing choice included in the receipts. " Three doubles of Arizona spring lambs sold at $8.40 today and' Texas muttons to day, $6.00 is not quite the full strength of the market in either class. Some choice Hamilton wethers ottered here sold at $6.40 late last week and the last good' Arizona wethers ottered' here sold t $6.50. A train from Cal ifornia hera last week Included klJ' goats to killers at $4.65, thin goats to ,the country at $3.75", clipped weth ers $6.50, and spring lambs at $8.75. The situation in the mutton trade Is not very stable, account of extreme ly high prices, and this is reflected in some road fluctuations In prices for live animals: f. , , , Telephone your news Items to The Optic, Phone Main 2. Don't Begin With the Gown, But the Corset! ' Now, it is not a difficult thing for a competent dressmaker to cut a gown on the lines demanded by Fashion this season; but, if you have neglected your corset, and, when the gown is to be fitted, the dressmaker finds bulging hips; surplus, ugly flesh at thigh, or angles which need round ing, why, you cannot blame her if the gown, when completed, does not give you that intangible, indescribable," elusive, but all-Important quality, "Style!"
