pital, last Friday, Jluly '28, 1905,
'Calvin G.. Cleland died, having

ial about a month ago, Mr. Cleland
-was one of the oldest citiieus of

Morganfown, V. 'a., in Jannary
183(i. He wns a favorite uncle of
ll'nited Senator James A. Iteming

west and located in Denver, was a
member during the Civil war, iu
Troop B. First Colorado cavalry,
and was mustered out at Fort Gar
land. In LS(J7 he located at Trini
dad where he resided until 1 ecame
to Red River in 1800.
Mr. Cleland was a good citizen
and a true friend and was always
liberal to those iu need,
The past year he was a great snf
ferer and iu a conversation with
the writer just before leaving for
Trinidad, he said his God had call
ed him and ho was ready to go. He
leaves a widow and seven children
to mourn his loss who have the
sympathy of their many friends.
