Hon H P .Cheatham super ntendent of the Oxford Col ored Orphanage, sreved as Master of ceremonies Dr. Ransom's father the late Rev M C Ransom was one of the Founders of the Orphanage and served as member of the board of Tuskegee and Secretary until '.is death in 1933, and his mother is still active in field work for the nstiuttion when her health per mits. In addition to the widow, Dr. Ransom is survived in the im med ately family by his mother, Mrs M C Ransom of Oxford, one sister, Mrs. A. B. Johnson of Raleigh, a brother of Eugene T Ransom of Oxford and also by a large number of more distant rel atives, as well as a host of friends both in and out of the profession throughout the country
