He then set tire to the house. When attempting to arrest Schistler. Police Captain William Bohanna and Police Surgeon Frank Dulin were shot by him and seriously wounded. Schis tler barricaded himself and held a large force of officers at hay for sev eral hours, many shots being exchang ed. Tlie desperate man was finally billed by T'ndersherilT Felix O'Neill. March' Ki.-Two men were held up, beaten and robbed by three negroes during the night near the line between this pity and Brookline. A negro named Matthew Hunt was ar rested, and another negro, whose iden tity is not known, was shot and killed by a Brookline officer after refusing to stop when hailed. The wounded man died here late last night. The assaults occurred in several different places, but were not more than twenty min utes apart. The victims were Frank II. Lincoln of Mcdford, im engineer, and 0. A. Birtwell, secretary of the Boston Children's Aid society. A watch, said by the police to be the property of Mr. Birtwell, was found on the negro shot. .
