Thanksgiving.
THANKSGIVING DAY.
We are thankful that we're living,
We are thankful all the time.
We are thankful for the tea we drluk
We are thankful It's not wlno.
We are thankful for the Stars and
Stripes,
And our dear old land of clover,
We are thankful with the politicians
That election day Is over.
We are thankful to Qjir patrons,
In calico or silk.
Wo are thankful to the populace
Who drink our buttermilk.
We are thankful for the buzzing
noise
Our factory wheels are causing
, We are thankful if they'll always ru
And never think of pausing.
We are thankful, yes we're thankful
Just as thankful as can be.
We'll be always more than thankfu
If you'll always drink our tea.
Kememoer, your Drain is neve
twisted, your health undermined, o
your home unhappy if you alway
drink tea, coffee or buttermilk sold

Some time ago C. Jerome Bailey
sued John Wacewycz for $100 for
services as architect and superinten
dent on a building. The case was
tried yesterday in the city court and
judgment was given the defendant
to recover his costs.
It was not the telephone oeonle
that Judge Cowell had th0 run in
with yeslerday about putting a nole
in the sidewalk in Exchange place,
but the Western Union people, who
don't hesitate to use the streets and
sidewalks to make- a home for their
poles whenever they want to. The
telephone people have so many poles
about town and are credited with so
many offenses naturally their name
comes to one's mind th first thing
when he gets his eye on one of these
huge timbers and in that way they
sometimes get a scoring for things
they are not responsible for. But
on the other hand a great many of
their offenses pass unnoticed so that
the kick they get that should have
been aimed at somebody else is more
than offset by commissions from
time to time when they are the real
culprits. In any case it is only fair
to state ttie rumpus created about
poles m the sidewalk in the west side
of Exchange place is up to the West
ern Union Telegraph company, and it
goes without saying that they will
come out of the rumpus without los-
ng very many feathers, if any at all.
