A three mile extension of the drainage canal at a cost of $6,000,000 was agreed on last night at a conference in the gov - ernor s office and a urn win tie intro duced in the s naie to give the sani tary district authority to build it as th first step In the deep waterway to the gulf. By this addition the drainage canal will be carried through the city of Jol et to La! Joliet, and that ci'y will he given access to lake traffic, a thing desired by the industries located there.
