The exact measurement of the temperature at the weather bu reau was 93.9 degrees. The previous high record for the year was 9:1.8. on June 23. Yesterday was the fourth of a continuous series of hot days but the other three probably felt warmer because of the higher per eentage of humidity. It is rich soil and several hundred acres of It , which has been cleared, has a fine stand of corn. But most of the ground Is covered with timber, a thick growth, through which Mr. Smith has had his road cut, skirting, the river, and with several straight cuts from it to the city. A drive along this road from Twenty first street to the Ohio river, is quite Interesting on a pleasant day.'
