They have lieen logging down there the past four nionths, during which time four men have put in oOO.OOO feet of good logs with the aid of their machine. Rastad ufrived hack to Whin gel 1 last week, after an ab sence of four weeks, during which time lie had a delightful visit back to his old home in Minnesota. He returns looking well and beady to take the wheel again after a much needed list. The people of Wrangell have been treated to some first-class band music during the past few days by the Howkan Silver Cornet Band, which c’.tm'e over .to attend the En dedvor Convention. Tnis band is composed of thirteen members—all natives—and although they had Ijt'eil organized and practicing but a very short 'time, their fendering of National and Sacred melodies stifs the sout« of all with Vhusic in them and is a credit-totin' perform er* 1 Mr. M. Healy, 011c of Wrangell’s merchants, contemplates leaving in a few days for a trip to New York and other Eastern ports. Invitations are out announcing a grand mask hull, at Collins’ hall, Wednesday night of next week— Nov. 2<>th. A good time is prom ised. Maskers must not fail to take their invitations with thorn, if they wish to he admitted. Messrs. Kinsaid and Thompson have built one of the finest ice houses id Alaska. It is located about 20 feet Indow the resevoir dam, so that ice can be put into it by a chute directly from the dam. making it very convenient. A good walk is built right up to it.
