AND FORMATION FAITH. On last Sunday at Uie Cice.sm:t Omcs at 11 O'clock Mr. Charles II, Dawon and Miss Gladys Cassner was joined in Holy Matrimony By Rev. L. S,. Garrret After hearinct a sermon from the Ed, on a married life. After services was over there was a large table spread with the danties of life and nearly a hundred people was fed, Mr. and Mrs. Nemie Walter was euests at the Wedding. Cut Rate cjlale To Save Money Chapter :!). InreadhiRthe Word of God, wo comprehend that God has spoken of different Faiths'. And for this reason we believe that, Faith is not Rencrally understood, just as God intended that it should be. And yet God clearly set it forth in his Word. Whut our aim shall be then; is, to try to teach the. reader the. Faith that we should be the most interested in. We wish you to understand, That the Faith hpoken of in our Text, is Christ. For Christ is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things. not seen. By the learned it is said that, "Faith is the ground or con fidence." Iiut we must say to our readers, that they might apply such an assertion 1o the faith that we might have, but it will not do to say this is all tlu.re is to our Text. For our Text rends, that "Faith is the substance of things hopi;d for," Then it be comes necessary lor us to know what the substance of heaven is, We hope for heaven, and Christ is the hope of heaven. No one will deny this, who believe in Christ. And he is the evidence of things not seen, we cannot see heaven, and we cannot help but know that Christ is the evidence of henven. The faith our Text speaks of, is not the same as Paul spoke of in this language: Anil Ihi.tivli I h ive Ukj Kift uf ptonlict.v. niul uiiUetiUiul til mmlerlt. md Hi! knowlolh'c; ami llto.iL'h I lme tl fii!i. ihst I cuM rcnuvj nn.uotui.u, fcnil bive u .l t hntliy, 1 u:n nitlliini. I C.ir. V.i-i. You will plainly see that this faith'spokea of is not the "ground or confidence" for we karn that Charity is the ground and confidence. It is beneath and above every thing spoken of in this scripture. From this standpoint of reasoning we learn that it was necessary for God to say this: Hth.U'kl. ttliun I Ko M ,eni'8 In writ- unto tnu of lh' Citnunn ial. linn, il wm ucmtfiil for mo l.i wri:(. imt i y.j. ni.it i th.irt m,ii tlmt slioulil Mrnutly cmttntl fur the fnilli wLtIi w i.n. e I. i.v ;nl unto the sain .ball t-8. ' What wu h.-arn from this is. that wi are to contend earnestly for the Christ who was once delivered unto the saints. Christ in them as God was in Christ This Faith delivered unto the saints is the Faith of the substance of things hoped fr. This is not a worldly faith. There is a worldly faith. This worldly faith will cause us tohaverespect.of persons. This kind of faith is not good. It oft tiiie-s causes us t iexilt ourselves, and ciuse us to believe that we ourselves can remove mountains, or pluck up a sycamore tree. It is nece, sary for us to hive faith enough in ourselves to do right; but we have to watch this kind of faith, or it will soon have us thinking that we are a go.l ourselves. So with these few facts before us, wo ask tin reader M think seriously on this matter. And put your faith in Christ aud hum ble yourselves under the mighty hand of G:id and He w ill exalt you. for lie is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence! of tilings not seen. Yours in C.irist for th" good. "Amen," BEAVEII CHEEK ITEMS . "By Kate nnd Uidl." Hello kind Ed. I will write you a few items for your naixr as 1 am not very busy.
