This week's issue of the Rec ord carries the announcement of Jim W. Johnson for Sheriff of Chaves county. Jim has lived all of his life in this ccunty and owing to the fact that he has served as deputy sheriff sinco 190S, ho is personally ac quainted with almost every man in the county, even to his given name. The eight years practi cal service in the office renders it possible for him to be thoro ughly acquainted with every de tail connected with the office. His record will show for itself, lie has tho reputation for gel ting his man when he g&es after him. Mr. Johnson declares that he is Hot tho candidate of any fac tion or element, and if elected to the office, will perform its duties without fear or favor, lie is making a personal cam paign of the county and wiil, no doubt pee you before many dajs.
