There is an immense spring over

Calico peak, t' at Ins an ebb and flow
that is ouite singular. The basin is
about twenty-live feet m diameter and
in the moruinir 8 always lull ot water
but in the evening it is perfectly dr
and empt v. The water is cold and ap-
narentlv of u'ood quality, and the
basin gradually fills to overflowing
when it a slowlv recedes, effervescing
violently all the time. The discovery
was made bv a prospector who passed
il in the morning when full (the basin
was full we, mi an) and on return
ing at night it was empty. He watched
it with the result above mentioned

decided to spend a fc. days with her
aunt up the Hudson, nnd left a note
to her parents, -who were both out of
town, lying upon thcmantal in a con
spicuous position. The note was
found where she placed it.
