Southern road, which extends from
Lawrence to Harper, a distance of '20;S
miles with a branch. from O.'tawa to
Olathe, a distance of 53 miles. The A.,
T. & S. F. issue its üve per cent, bond
for the stock of the Lawrence, which
it accepts at 90. The purchase secures
to the Atchison road a very valuable
acquisition as the K. C, L. !c It. road
traverses the finest parts of Kansas
tu. I for most of the way runs parallel
with the M. K. & T., thus enabling
the A., T. & S. F. to compete with
the latter, which is under control of
thetiotild combination. The Hail way
