faihcr, the Hon. Vicente Homero, de
ceased. The latter had his life insured
iu the New York Life Insurance Com
pany for fivo thousand dollars. On
the submission of the proofs of the
death of Ir. Homero, the money cal
led for by the policy was paid without
a word. This was a wise provision
which was promptly met.
Some Good Shooting,
A few days since Mr. P. G. Trouc
took a.trip to the Los Alamos lakes
and found wild water fawl exceeding
ly plenty. At three shots he succeeded
in killing 12 geese and one duck.
Five of the geese were killed at the
first shot and when the flock flew the
other barrel brought down seven.
The geese were brought to town and
left at the Restaurant of Mr. MeKays
where any one desiring , can have the
pleasure of sampling them.
