The Mr. Hibler's are improving their farms by building new houses. Some of the farmers have part of their land listed preparatory to planting the next crop. Miss Mamie McKinley came in Mon day morning with the mail carrier. Our school is getting along just fine. Sam Hibden has returned from a visit with his folks at San Antonio, Texas. He has raised the price on his farm, since seeing the old coun try. He says it will take $25.00 an acre to move him. So I guess New Mexico is good enough for him. J. A. Rogers is preparing to take trip to see his father, somewhere in Texas. Mr. Deck has moved to the Alber son place, which now belongs to Mr. Fain. We are glad to have them In our settlement and have their chil dren In our school.- OICÜROK Willard From "Willard R'.cord C. Jesse Meyer is spending the week with relal.'ves in Albuquerque ..lid having some optical work done. . j Mr. Roy Judd and Miss Lelah Ogier were married Thursday evening at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Ogier. Misses N'iva and Shirley Nutter, of Albuquerque, were over and spent Thanksgiving with their brother, D. S. Nutter and family. . Miss Ruby Walls who has been the guest of E. T. Shockey and family left Monday evening for a visit with rela tives at Mountainair. Payne and Lovelace bought 100 head of cattle from Joe J. Brazil Sat urday. The cows will be put on their ranch south of Scholle. G. S. Alter returned Saturday from a visit at Wichita, Kans. Mrs. Alter and son John who have been spend ing sometime in the east accompanied li'im home. Aden White who came here about six years ago on account of his health died last night and the remains will be shipped tcnight to his old home at Bedford, Indiana. Aden was an ex ceedingly good boy and was loved and honored by all who knew him. He was about 27 years old, just in the prime of life. He leaves many good friends in Willard who are griev ed about his death. A blizzard, of a cold east wind and snow hit Willard lest Wednesday night and continued for several days until about six inches of snow covered the ground. The stockmen began to feel "blue" thinking the weather man was going to rrpeat his conduct of last winter and send a continued storm. PeUrson left Monday by way of Albuquerque for Orlando, Florida, where they will spend the winter. , Í' Rcan threshing was resumed the last few days. It is reported that a few fields of beans were caught in the piles by the storm, but most, of them are in the stack. Mr. and Mrs. J. X. Bush and Mr. and Mrs. I). T. Maclary have decided to go to Xewkirk, Oklahoma, and have already shipped some of their goods. They will leave in a few weeks. Roscos East, who it will be re membered accidently shot himself in the foot several weeks ago, is now able to hobble around, but doesn't ex pect to be able to work until about the first of the year. ft i Miss Frances Turner has resigned her place in the Estancia Drug Store and accepted a place in a Santa Fe drug store. Sh-i was here Wednesday enroute to Lubbock, Texas, to see bet mother, who is sick. Conrad Wiggins is the new clerk in the drug store. Thanksgiving Day ushered in a snowstorm, though it was too cold to snow much on that day. It modera ted Friday morning and about four inches of Bnow fell in the valley. From Saturday morning until Wednesday it has been clear and warm most of the time, and the snow is practically a all gone S. J. Massey has sold his three quarter sections of land west of Es tancia to J. E. Wheeler. Mr. Massey's only reason for selling is the fact that his invalid son has been rather worse during the past few months.
