The organization will be almost entirely composed of ex perienced band men and fhey will be on the streets for a concert in a short time. Campbell was in from the ranch Wednesday for the purpose of advertising a mare which has been running with his horses. He found an ad in the News describ ing the animal and a reward of $10 for his trouble. The Elk Drug Store has received its handsome new Fountain. It is the swellest in the town. It is a modern counter fount, with a large back mirror, marble counters, and polished fittings. Ed Wyatt's residence on Second street is now ready to inhabit. This js one of the best built cot takes in the McGee Addition and there are a number of good ones in that section of town. In addition to the number who enrolled as members of the W. C. T. U. at organization meeting, a large number in addition have been enrolled. The organization is to be quite a strong one in Tu cumcari. Rex Foster has opened up a news stand in tne corner of the building occupied by the Legal Tender Saloon. He is now operating two news and fruit stands and is doing a good busi ness, ilis lather who recently came here is associated with him in this business. As a result of the new ruling of the postal department a large number of post office boxes were declared vacant April 1st, on ac count of failure to pav box rent. The vacant notices in many boxes served as quite a serious little 'April Fool' joke. A number ol people were extremely anxious to pay box rent Wednesday morning. One of Tucumcari's Main Business streets presented quite a busy appearance one day this week. Five hefty young hogs, the property of some enterprising citizen, had usurped the prero gative of the city scavenger, and right down the busy part of Sec ond Street they came on a tour 'cleaning up.'
