NOTICE TO FARMERS I
To Farmers planning to plant fall
wheat or rye:
The State Council of Defence is now
making plans to ussist farmers in the
locating and purchase of wheat and
rye for fall seeding. At a conference
with the Extension Director, the Coun
cil of Defence asked that we assist
thorn in securing the following infor
mation: Amount of seed wheat needed;
amount of seed rye needed; amount
of wheat for sale suitable for seed;
amount of rye for sale suitable for
seed; altitude at which seed was
grown.
If you have not already received a
blank similur to the following, fill out
this one nnd return to E. M. Yates,
Acting County Agricultural Agent,

You are hereby notified that Will
iam N. Elkins, who gives Endee, Quny
county, New Mexico, as his postofllco
address, did on July 21st, 1917, file
in this office his duly corroborated ap
plication to contest nnd secure the
cancellation of your Homestead En
try Ser. No. 019820, made July 28th,
1910, for NW Sec. 5, Twp ON., Rng
3GE., N. M. P. Meridian, and as
grounds for his contest he alleges that
entrymnn is dead, as affiant is inform
ed and believes, that diligent inquiry
has been made, but nffiant has been
unable to learn the names and ad
dresses of the heirs of the suid entry
man, if any there be. That the said
entrymnn filed on the said land for
the use and benefit of Thomas G.
Walker and not for his own use and
benefit; that cntryman has wholly fail
cd to establish his residence on the
said entry, but has removed to a for
eign state and the land is not now im
proved, but is in its natural wild state
except as hereinafter set forth. That
entryman's absence from the land is
nor was it due to his employment in
military service rendered in connec
tion with operations in Mexico, or
along the borders thereof, or in mob
ilization camps elsewhere in the mili
tary or naval organization of the Uni
ted States or the National Guard of
any of the several states, all of which
allegations are made upon informa
tion and belief. The basis upon which
I found the allegation that the land
is being held for the use nnd benefit
of Thomas G. Walker, who owns the
