The Elephant Butte Dam is now lo cated on what was once the T. P. land grant, Sierra County south-west New Mexico, and was in 182 up to 1886 the favor ite stomping grounu and "war path" ot the notorious Indian Chief Geronimo. Mr. Curren while getting along in ytars now is quite ac tive. He is one of the few vet eran hiu? paper men of the state now a.ive and is living at Clovis where his son is editor of the Clovis News. For many years he was in the newspaper busi ness at Clayton and Tucumcari. He nas always been a fearless writer and believed in saying what he thought was right in behalf of the people. , His many friends in this section of the state as well as other sections will be pleased to learn that he is still active and very much alive. W. Bruner is plain tiff and Dr. A. L. Dillon.
