ANOTHER BALL GAME
SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY
Another of those very Interesting
I exhibitions of the national same is
. scheduled to take place at Ormond on
j Friday, between the clerks of Hotel
j Clarendon and the Ormond. These
I games draw hundreds of people from
! the nearby resorts and serve to fur
j nish entertainment for more tourists,
j with the exception of golf, than any
! other outdoor pasttime. 'Busses will
; leave the beach in front of the Claren
j don at 2:45 and it is hoped that there
will be a large crowd of fans on hand
Friday to accompany the boys to Or
mond and assist in the "rooting."
GOLF ENTHUSIASTS
WATCH WEATHER VANE
Despite the bad weather yesterday
there were a large number of golf
I players who found their way to the
links in the afternoon after it stopped
raining. Many of these remained on
the course until dusk, getting as much
fun out of the game as possible, for
fear of being kept within doors again
today. It is a fact that there are more
golf players at the Clarendon this sea
son than ever before, and there has
been less suitable weather for playing
than followers of the game have been
forced to experience in years.
A QUIET DAY AT THE
BIG HOTEL YESTERDAY
It was a quiet day at the Clarendon
i yesterday, owing to the morning after
J the night before. Many of the guests
I who entered into the festivities of the
Washington birthday ball preferred to
sleep rather than try to be comfort-
able sitting about the lobby, while the
I rain drizzled down and made out-door
; sports Impossible.
j TOOK LUNCHEON AT
i CLARENDON ON MONDAY
Mrs. Arthur Schwarz, of Trenton,
N. J., was a luncheon guest at Hotel
j Clarendon yesterday. Many prominent
i persons from nearby resorts passed a
i portion of the day at the big hotel
; yesterday enjoying the music in the
afternoon and dinner in the evening.

true,' was the reply.

a busy day Monday, taking passengers

from 1500 to 2000 feet.
Probably the most enthusiastic
passenger "yesterday was James J.

up in the air about 12 minutes and
greatly enjoyed the flight, It being his
first experience in a Wright machine.

a school of aviation in the north. Mr.
Lewis has already taken a few lessons
of Aviator Bruce, of the Curtis com

RARE ENTERTAINMENT

ful, and those who saw the exhibitions
were greatly pleased with his style
of entertainment.
Should Do as He Teaches.
It's a waste of time for a futher to
attempt to train up his son in the way
be should go if he doesn't keep in the
middle of the same path himself.
Inconvenient
"Summer has Its inconveniences."
"I don't get you." "I was just think

carry a lead pencil, a fountain pen,
his watch and his cigars In the top
pocket of his coat." Detroit Free
Press.
Valuable Painting Found.
A genuine Rubens has been discov
ered in a small private dwelling at
Strasburg. The painting, which de
picts a scene from Herodotus, formed
part of a legacy of Queen Christina of
Sweden, and dates from between 1G23
and 1C24.
RUTH LAW CARRIED TWO
PASSENGERS YESTERDAY
Ruth Law carried two passengers
in air flights yesterday In spite of the
bad weather. James Lewis, of Sayre,
Pa., and Miss Mary Muller were the
two persons who braved the elements
and accompanied the little aviator
over that part of Seabreeze and Day
tona Beach, which she has so often
traveled. Mr. Lewis was highly
pleased with the experience and was
not backward in saying so. It was
Miss Muller's first trip among the
clouds, and she, too, was delighted
with the trip.
