PHYSICIANS OF OMAHA DISAGREE DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON COOP- ER'8 REMARKABLE 8UCCESS HELD BY MEDICAL MEN OF NEBRASKA METROPOLIS. Omaha, Nob., Feb. 1C Tho aston ishing; sale of Cooper's preparations In this city has now reached such Im mense figures that the medical frater nity at largo have become force-3 Into open discussion of tho man and his preparations. The physicians as a wholo scorn to bo divided with regard to tho young man's success In Omaha some bo Ing willing to credit him for what ho has accomplished, whllo others assert that tho Interest ho has aroused Is but a passing fnd which cannot last, nnd which will die out ad quickly ns It has sprung up. Tho opinion of theso two factions is very well voiced In tho statements mado recently by two of a number of physicians who were Interviewed on tho subject Dr. J. E. CnrasB when questioned about tho matter said: "I havo not been a believer In proprietary prepa rations heretofore, nor can I say that I believe In them nt present. But I must admit that somo of the facts re cently brought to my notlco concern ing this man Cooper havo gone far towards removing tho prejudlco I had formed ngalnst him when tho unheard-of demand for hiB preparations first sprang up in this city. Numbers of my patients whom I havo trentcd for chronic liver, kidney and stomach troubles havo met mo after tnking Coopei's remedy and havo stated positively that ho has accomplished wonderful results for tbem. I notice particularly in cases of stomach trou bio that tho man has relieved several cases of years' standing that proved very obstinate to treatment "I am tho last man on earth to stand in the way of anything that may prove for tho public good simply through professional prejudice, and I am inclined to give Cooper and his preparations credit as deserving to somo extent tho popular demonstra- Ltlon that has been accorded them in this city." Another well known physician who was seen took the opposite view of the "Cooper-mania," as he called it, which now has this city in its grip. He said: "I can only liken the, present state of affairs to a certain kind of hallucination. For want of a better name, I might call it 'Cooper-mania.' The pcoplo of Omaha seem to be firm in the belief that this man Cooper has health corked up in a bottle. "Some of them imagine that he haB completely cured them of various Ills, judging from their statements. It 1b beyond me to say why the city has gone crazy over the man, It may be safely put down, I think, to one of the passing fads that so often attack the American public. "Sooner or later the pcoplo are bound to regain their senses nnd will then realize that the reputable physi cian Is tho one to whom their health had best be entrusted." In the meantime Cooper meets sev eral thousand people daily, and only smiles when statements of tho above character arc quoted to him. A Gift to Bryn Mawr. Miss Cynthia M.
