Pugg and Boots a Great Success.
The Lilliputian Wedding and drama
of "Puss and Boots" given at the Opera
House Monday evening by local talont
under tho management of Mr. M. J.
Lee and tho Daughters of tho Confed
eracy was an artistlo, and considering
the inclement weather, a financial suc
cess. In the wedding scene little Miss
Dorothy Hudgens and Master Lamar
('opeland as bride and groom and their
attendants, all of them beautiful little
tots, entirely captivated the audience.
A tableau, "The Sculptor's Dream,"
In wbloh Mlas Claudia Crews, took the
role of Galatea, and Maslor John Terry
Poole that of Cupid also scored a great
success.
In the drama the leading p;.rts wero
lakon by Miss Maude Tillman, Miss
Amy Nolan, Miss Emmie Meng, Miss
Josephine Mintor, Mr. M. J. Lee and
Mr. Ed. Hart. Tho drama was pre
sented with great cleveinoss, Miss
Tillman as tho Queen, Miss No'au as
the Princess and the lords and ladles
of the Royal Court all winning great
applause. It was decidedly" worth
while to see all of the prettiest girls in
tho city looking tnelr loveliest and this
alone would have rendered the affair a
success.
Mrs. W. E. Lucas and Mies Carol

A Dcplornblo Accident.
The deplorable news of the acciden
tal death of Mr. Tillman Fuller, a res
pfcted and popular fanner of Water
loo Township, was received here Sun
day. Mr. Fuller was run ovor and
killed Saturday night by a freight
train on the O, & W. C. Hallway. It
appears that Mr. Fuller was driving
home In the darkuess and his horse |
wandered from tho road near Mr. Van
Hoborlson's and that Mr. Fuller un
harnessed the horso intending to ride
home and return and extricate the
buggy when daylight came. It is sup
Eosed that Mr. Fuller then purposed
> go homo by the nearest way,
across the railroad track, and that
on the traok the horse stumbled throw
ing him. He was probably stunned by
the fall. A few minutes later che train
came and ran over him. The engineer
did not not discover tho accident and
tho train came on to Laurens. He and
the conductor first beard of it on their
return. Mr. Fuller loaves a widow
and threo children for whom a deep
sympathy Is felt. He was a good citi
zen and keen regret is felt for tho acci
dent. No blame Is attached to tho
railroad company and the whole trag
edy was simply an unfortunate mishap.
