by B H Greenbeig its chaiinan for
mally presented its report accepting the
building from the builders and turning
over the keys to the congregation Mr
fGreenberg said it had been character
ized as a ha ardoufa undertaking for
he congregation and when he accept
d his post on the committee charged
o superintend the building of the new
lynagogue many had prophesied fall
fire But heie wo are in this beauti
ful place today it is completed and
jeady with all of its handsome ap
polntments for the services of the
approaching holidays I can truly say

In his introductory he felicitated the
people on thofr entrance into so splen
did a temple and called upon them to
rejoice and be glad as another house
of worship was about to be consecrated
to tho service and worship of Almighty

some new synagogue It was a pleas
we are glad and givo thanks wo should
have also seiious thoughts and deap
meditations on the signiilcance of thi
event Foi not unto this day alone has
this temple been erected not meiely
for our service and lehgious benefit
but for tunc and for futurity Not
only for ourselves but for our children
and their children unio many genera
tions
Those statutes and oidinances of
our faith given to our fathers of old
as they met Jehovah at Sinai those
laws and commandments that have fos
tered Mitue and righteousness and
holy living these shall be taught here
these shall be taught to us and to our
children And so long as we shall fol
low them Yre shall do good and not
only to ourselves but unto others

CONGRATULATORY RESOLUTIONS
Following this thecongratulations of
the Jewish Literary Society were of
fered to the congregation in an ad
dress by Joe Weingarten and in a
beautiful framed document which he
presented resolutions passed at a
meeting of the society held August 25
The resolutions were inscribed in at
tractive lettering and read as follows
Whereas in the near future Congre
gation Adath Yeshuiun will dedicate
its new synagogue to the worship of
the God of our father and instruction
in oui holy faith and
Whereas the Jewish iLiterary So
ciety in its efforts to keep up a high
standard or ife intellectually and so
cially among our people should take
