Mr. Peter Simpson who kept our lights so bright all winter | that we never needed oil lamps i during the entire term will spend < the summer in charge of Mr.W. P.Mills sawmill. He will over haul the machinery and then begin to cut lumber. Archie Dundas and two of our school boys, David Howard and Louis Simpson will also find employ ment in the mill. Many of our young men have at this early date made arrange ment for work all through va cation. Every one of them can find employment during the summer months, even the little fellows catch the spirit of in dustry and spend the greater part of their vacation at work in the canneries, they like the hum of the machinery, the mild I excitement when a large ship load of tourists come in to see how the work is done and. hest of all it means money to get the good things of life with. I^lectricjil Work Stephen Nicholas one ol our printers is very much interested in the new eleven horse power engine that is being installed in his fathers boat the "Stephen" George Howard has orders for so many new boats that he is kept busy all the time. Some of our lady teachers have been stung by the agricultuial bug. Mr. Young of the Cottage Settlement has just landed a king Salmon that weighed over one hundred pounds, dont that sound good? Our boys have another base ball game on with the business men, the last game stood eleven to fourteen in favor ot the school, j All worked hard to' make the closing exercises of the Shel don Jackson School a success.
