A heavy rain follin tho hills west ot town and soon Tombstone canyon was a rag ing torrent, tho water being over two feetdeep. Tho two lunch wagons which stood outsido of tho flood gate were swept down tho canyon and went to pieces against tho Wallace building, their entire furnishings, dishes, stoves, jars, etc.,. were swept away and the whole outfits wore a total loss, so tho poor unfortunates who would buy a ham sandwich tonight will have to find it at Bomo of our restaurants. A poor unfortunate dog was swept down tho creek and owing .to the swift ness of the water, was unable to extri cate himself and was consigned to a watery grave. So far as' we have been able to learn no.great amount of damage was done.. The cellars along Main street were flooded to a depth ofc a foot or mora- but no damage was done as the goods had all been put .up out of reach of the flood.
