Hi
AN INTERESTING LETTER
from a Boy Who Formely lived
Here.
He Writes from Montana Meets His
Brother, Whom He Thought
Had Perished.
The following intewstintf letter was
received by Sid Harris from Rhoin
hart Pfcirasch wholeft here two months
ajro for Montana, where he has n num
ber of prospects:
Canyon Crkkk, Montana, '
June, 24, 1900.
Fmi:nd Sid and BROTiir.it Rhdmun
-I arrived here in rood order; the
weather is tine and cool. We hav
plenty of mountain trout and deer and
grouse. We expect to start work on
the mine the 2.1th. There is any quan
tity of pine timber here.
I met one of mj brother-, in Helena
last week thai I thought was drowned
in the Arctic ocean in 1892. You can
think how glad and surprised I was to -see
him alive. He had a torriblo ex
perience. He wa-. one of the crew of
the whaler Helen Mar, which vessel w
was ground up in the ice. Thirty-live
of the crew wore killed; my brothei
and four others out of the crow of forty
hands, alono escaping.
They were on a cake of Ice for two
days and night and after terrible suf
fering were taken off by another whal
ing ship.
Give my kind regards to all the. boys,
Perhaps the Review might like to
hear this repoi t. 1 would like to re
ceive a cop of that paper occasionally.
With best wishes to all, I remain n
ever R. Tetrasch.
Veterans Will Celebrate.
The annual reunion or the survivor
of the Seventh Georgia regiment, which
Goneral "Tige" Anderson commanded
during the eh II war. will bo hold at
Lost Mountain in Cobb county, about
six miles from Powder Spring, on Um
21st.
Governor Chandler, Senator Stovo
Clay and other distinguished oterans
will attend the reunion and take part
in the celebration, The citizens ot
Cobb countj are making ample prepa
rations for all who may attend the.
gathering of old veterans of the fam
ous regiment, and 'satisfactory arrange
ments hae been made with the rail
road company by which a small round
trip rate has been secured. "'
T.hoe having charge of the detail? of
the reunion will have carriages invralt-
ing at the station at Powder SpringsTto
convey the visitors to tost Mountain
and back in lime to catch the train for '
Atlanta. It is expected that jthe reun
ion will be largely attended.
Stranqe Coincidence.
On December f, lfii)4, a essel crrav
ing- the Menal straits with 81" passen
gers on Imrd encountered' a terrible
gtle and foundered. The only man
who escaped death was Hugh Williams.
.More than 100 j ears later, on Decern
ber5, 1780, another vesiel with a largo
number of passengers sank in the same
circumstances and in the .same plac.
All the pnsjpn&ets were drowned ex
cept one, again Hugh Williams. Again
on December f, 1320, a loat laden with
30 people sank in ihn same spot. The
sole survivor once more was Hugh Wil
liams. Married American Girl.
Baron VonKetteler, the German min
9ter at Peking, whose death at the
hands of the Boxers, was recently re
ported, married an American girl, then
MlssM&ud Ledyard, daughter of thu'
president of the Michigan Central Rail-
rood romnarv
The Wigwam.
All persons desiring to take advant-an-e
of our uuloue 2 dozen photos for.
50 cents should-.eome at once, jm nd sit-,
