', The Bride was atteuped by Miss Ina Wilkinson who was charming in a pretty white organdie over pink. Mr. T. F. Oarnall, gracefully carried out the important responsibilities of groomsman. The ceremony was witnessed by a few relatives and intimate frionds of the high contracting parties only. The rooms were beautifully decorat with hanging baskets wall packets of maiden hair fern, and ferns and potted plants, while carnations were used with artistic effect. After ceremony a delicious repast was served, and tbe happy pair receiv ed the congratulation of thoie present, The wedding presents were both numerous and co3tly. The young couple then left for the reelttence the Groom had prepared for the reception of hl3 Bride. The Brides home is in Los Angeles where she has a large circle of friends while the Groom is one of our most pop ular, and prosperous professional men and general favorite. Dr. and Mrs. Chambers will be at home at their residence in Bisbee . The Norwegian steamer Veritas collided with the Leyland line steamer Devonia from Boston, October 1. Unsuccessful ettortswete made to beach the Veritas on the Cheshire shote, after which she was towed over tef the Liverpool side, where the cable parted and she collided with the steam er Eurl of Powys, causing the lattejr to break from her moorings. Thereupon both steamers drifted down the river, and the Veritas crashed into two thick iron booms stretched from the pier head at St. George's Landing stage. Everything above'her deck was carried away, and she Is now a submerged wreck. The Earl of Powys, while drifting, smashed her boats, lost her propeller and her crew leaped upon the dock wall. The south end of the landing stage was extensively damaged. The aggregate damage dont will amount to thousands of pounds. Notice. Richard Croker, Jr., son of the famous Tarn many boss and politician, who is now a member of the freshman law class at Cornell, has received great attention since he first came to Ithaca. Today more than ever he drew all eyesj to ward him. Six of hia famous English bulldogs, whose value aggregates nearly $10,000, were brought to town. ' "Kipling," for which $4,000 waa paid, was tlii subject of special attention. He was led through the streets, which were for a time blocked with crowds who gathered, not so much to see a dog as to get a glimpse of $4,000.
