THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that public notice be given Ly this Board in the manner provided by Paragraph 735, Article 2, Chapter 15, Revised Code of Arizona, 1928, of the filing of said applica tion and of the intention of this Hoard to make such grant of a fran chise as applied for and to impose such restrictions and limitations as to the use of such public roads a s may be deemed best for the public safety or we'fare, and to include in such franchise provisions requiring The Eloy Light, Power and Utility Go. Inc., to bear all expenses, in cluding damage and compensation for any alteration of the direction surface, grade or aligment of any Oounty Road made for the purpose of such franchise, by publication thereof in The Coolidge Examiner, a newspaper of general circulation published within Pinal County, Ari zona, once each week for three consecutive weeks prior to the date hereinafter set for consideration of such action. M. on Monday, the 7th day of November, 1935, at the office of said Board at the Court House in Florence, Pinal County, Arizona. PROCLAMATION WHERAS, it is provided in Section 11, Article VII, of the constitution of Ariz., that a General Election shall be held for the election a United States Senator, a Representative in Congress, members of the legisla ture, and state, county and precinct officers, on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of the first even numbered year after the year in which Arizona is admitted to statehood, and biennially thereafter, and WHEREAS. Article 1, Chapter 34, provides that amendments to the constitution and laws against which a referendum has been filed, or measures w r hich have initiated by petition bearing an adequate number of signatures of qualified electors shall be submitted to the people to be voted upon at the General Election following the filing of such petitions, and WHEREAS, it is provided by Article 1, Chapter 22, of the Revised Code of Arizona. 1928, that at least thirty (30) days before a General E’ection, the Governor shall issue a proclamation containing a State ment of the time of E’ection, Offices to be filled, and an offer of re ward, in the form prescribed by law, to prevent abuses of the elective franchise, copies ot which proclamation shall be presented to the Clerk of The Board of Supervisors of the different counties of tiae State. NOW, THEREFORE, I, R. C. STANFORD, Governor of the State of Arizona, in pursuance of my dutie s as prescribed by law, do hereby proclaim a general election to be hold on the first Tuoeday after the first Monday in November, 1938, which will be November Bth, for the election of the following officials: A United States Senator; a Representative in Congress; a Judge of the Supreme Court; a Governor; a Secretary of State; an Auditor; a Trea surer; an Attorney General; a Mine Inspector; a Superintendent of Public Instruction; a Corporation Commission; a Tax Commissioner; and such Judges of the Superior Court of the State of Arizona in and for the several counties of the State, as are authorized by law, and such state senators and representatives as are authorized by Sectional, ! Subdivision 2. Article 4, of the Constitution of the State of Arizona, as amended by initiative petition of the people adopted at the General Election. November 5, 1918, and which became a law by proclamation of the Governor Decembeer 15, 1918; and further amended by initiative petition of the people adopted at the General Election held November j 8. 1932, and 'vyhich became a law by proclamation of tM Governor, ! November 28, 1932. And I do hereby offer a reward of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for the arrest and conviction of any and every person violating any of the provisions of Chapter 99, Revised Statutes of Arizona, 1928, such rewards to be paid until the total amount thereof expended for the purpose reaches the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). The County Board of Supervisor* convened pursuant to recess, George W. Burgess, Chairman and Clerk present. OFFICE OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS) Tuesday FLORENCE, PINAL COUNTY, STATE OF ARIZONA) Oct. 4th. 1938 The County Board of Supervisors met in regular session, George W. Burgess, Chairman. James Herron, Jr., Member, Enis Thurman, Member and Clerk present. The Chairman of the Board approved the Official Bond of Mr. George Clay as Justice of the Peace of Justice Precinct No. 10, Pinal County. Arizona under date of October 3rd, 1938. Vacancy having occured in the office of Justice of the Peace for Justice Precinct No. 2, Pinal County Arizona occassioned by the resig nation of Mr. H. G. White, and said resignation having been accepted by the Board, the matter of the appointment of an official to serve the county in this capacity for the unexpired term of Mr. H. G. White was given consideration. Mr. Walter B. Love, Jr. having been found to , possess all qualifications necessary to hold such office, upon motion duly seconded and unanimously carried, the said Walter B. Love, Jr., was appointed as Justice of the Peace of Justice Precinct No. 2, Pinal County, Arizona, to fill the unexpired term of Mr. H. G. White, .said appointment conditioned upon the filing of a good and sufficient bond as required by law, and to take effect immediately. The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County and other parties met with the Board regarding the construction of a road, a part of which would be located in Pinal County. The Board of Supervisors of Pinal County agreed to sponsor such a project, making it a part of their Country-wide WPA Highway project, but it was specifically under ! stood that no cost s of any nature whatsoever in connection with t his j project should be paid by Pinal County. A request w-as received from the City of Casa Grande for the rental of highway equipment not being used by Pinal County, for use on the City of Casa Grande W.P.A. project. The Board agreed to rent such equipment to City of Casa Grande, based upon a renval schedule to be drawn by the County Engineer and Signed by the Council of the City of Casa Grande, with the understanding that Pinal County be allowed to withdraw any of such equipment for their own use if occassion should arise whereby the County should need the equipment.
