For Sale by HINES DRUG CO. j Pinal Hay Committee Urges Growers To Secure Market Prices Pinal County hay growers are "dumping” their hay at prices' from one to three dollars per ton less than the market, it was an-| nounced today by W. C. Pate,! chairman of the Hay Committee of the Pinal County Farm Bureau, following a meeting of the com mittee. Prices of local alfalfa have been! largely on a $9.00 basis, f.o.b. the! field, with some bringing as low as SB.OO. The committee checked on the hay situation in Maricopa County, and found that choice al falfa was bringing $ll.OO, fair to! good alfalfa from SIO.OO to $10 v 25 ! and common to fair alfalfa $9.75 to j SIO.OO, these prices all being f.o.b. I | the field. The demand for alfalfa j | is fair to good with the market ! showing a firm undertone because! jof water shortage. The Tovrea | Packing Company, one of the j larger buyers, is paying SIO.OO de j livered at their plant for only fair j quality hay. With all Casa Grande Valley i i points located approximately 60 ’ miles closer to the Tucson market than Salt River Valley points, the field price of local hay should be on a basis of SI.OO per ton higher i than the field quotations for Salt River Valley. The local market has been i beaten down by buyers advising , growers that their offers are based on Salt River Valley prices. It is j evident from the above Maricopa j prices that, such is definitely not i the case. | The committee a'so investigated the barley marketing situation. It was found that Salt River Valley mills were offering 85 cents per cwt., but growers are selling little at this price, most of them hold , f ing for SI.OO. Before sel ing grow , ers should Investigate the A.A.A. ! loan s on barley, which have re-! : cently been announced in an es- i fort to sustain prices. The loan rates announced for farm storage are 35 cents per bushes. for No. 1 barley, 34 cents for No. 2. 32 cents for No. 3, 29 cents for No. 4. and 25 cents for; No. 5. The Tovrea Packing Co. is j now paying ninety-five cents per| cwt for barley delivered at their plant. i o Desert Woman Club Season Last Meeting The Past Presidents of the Desert Woman’s Club were honor ed Friday with a luncheon in their $25.06 REWARD | will be paid by the manufacturer i for any Corn or Callous GREAT j CHRISTOPHER POSITIVE CORN !
