At the November A session, Tribal Administrative Assistant Edward J Sullivan told of recent developments on the reservation and heard complaints against treatment of Tucson residents when applying for medical aid at San Xavier Indian hospital. Among those present were Pete Blaine Sr., Elila Chico, Florence Enos, Annie Enos, Rafaela Gonzales, Myra Gonzales, Angie Gallego, Margaret Gallego. Hazel Harold, Elizabeth Manuel, * I sador Manuel, Doris Mendez, Virginia Parvello, Louisa Ramon, Ella Rumley, and Mike Wilson. Meetings were held at the House of Neighborly Service. In the absence of Chairman John Narcho, Vice-Chairman Augustine Chico presided. ->(- Dr. and Mrs. Randall Benson, San Xavier Indian hospital, are the parents of a son Bradley born Nov. 23. Dr. and Mrs. Larry Lassinger, Santa Rosa Health Center, are the parents of a son born Nov. 24. Both children were born at Tucson Medical Center. -x- * x Inez Hill, editor of the Apache Drumbeat, was a reservation visitor in November. She was ac companied by Loretta Benally. Both women visited tribal and BIA offices and talked with Papago Credit Union officials in regard to possible setting up of a similar financial institu tion on the San Carlos Apache reservation. * # x Tribal Chairman Eugene J. Johnson, San Xavier District Chairman Aloysius Flores, and Elmer Campus represented tribal interests at a recent meeting of Papago and BIA personnel in Phoenix. Possible leasing of San Xavier district lands, owned either by individuals of the tribe and dis district, was the subject for discussion. x x x * Eugene Tashquinth Sr., Chui Chu resident, is a new BIA employee, serving as interpreter for David Russell in Adult Education. * # # More than 90 persons, members and their families and friends, of the Baptist congregation in Sells observed the annual Thanksgiving Day pot-luck at the church at noon. Edward Vernon of Tucson was conducting revival services during the week. tr 3£ 34. Tribal Secretary Claudina R. Blaine has taken a leave of absence for three months from the Tribal office. She expects to return March 1, 19'64* Ruth Antone has been named by the Tribal Council as assistant secretary. X X X ► Theodore Mayor, 24-year-old San Xavier resident, accidently shot himself in the arm in mid- November. Lejero, who is the son of Isabel Antone of Pan Tak, has been working at Three Points since returning from Los Angeles with his wife and children.
