Flake has been at Pleasant Valley for some time looking after stock. Misses Gertrude and May Han sen have been visiting friends here for several weeks. Our recent conference was fair ly well attended, representatives; being present from most of thej wards. j Elders Edward Day and I. S. Hansen, young Latter Day Saint! missionaries to Arizona, were! visitors here this week. . I Homer P. Bushman and wife! returned from their, trip to Salt : Lake City Saturday. . They gave some valuable information to the officers of the organization i they went to represent. J Monday afternoon there was! a match game of ball played here I between the Wild Cats and some! soldiers on their way to Fort) Apache. The former came off victorious, as they usually do. j Among the visitors here this j week may be mentioned: J. H. j Richards, John Bushman, I'res-i ton Bushman, and Jos. Hansen,! of St. Joseph; L. M. Savage, ofj Woodruff; Hans Hansen and i wife, of Woodland; Z. B. Decker, Thomas Hancock and a great man' young people from Taylor. Monday evening tne young j ladies gave a grand ball in I Flake's hall. It was a success j both financially and socially. Icej drinks were served on the stand, but no doubt the most interest- ing feature of the occasion was ' the printed programs, which i were so neatly gotten up at the j A Rous office. ' Some of our townspeople at tended the conference at Snow flake, and report a good time. A ball was given Thursday last, at which Messrs. Day, Bush man and Palmer were visitors. Pinedale. The Petersen boys are 'gather ing horses. James Pcaree, Jr., is shearing his sheep this week. Thomas Bro. lost a herder and bunch of sheep last week. Niels Peterson is still very sick, but we think he is on the gain.- The crops seem to be doing well considering the dry weather. Ellis Stratton, of Snow-flake, was up last week. He was ac companied home by his neiee, Miss Carrie Stratton. The devil always fishes in shal low places. was seen in . lltteiiei to. Woodruff. John Turley is at home once more. Chas. Gardner town Tuesday. Most of our men are. kept busy harvesting hay. .Some of the St. Joseph boys passed through here Tuesday. -John Colvin, from the Gila, spent the past week with his relatives here.
