Rollo Richey Dead. Wednesday evening, ,Feb. 13, Master Rollo Richey passed peace -fully from this sphere of existance to that great be-ond. He had been suffering for quite a long time with heart disease that finally caused his death. Roll o is the eleven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Richey who, reside at Rich ville, Ariz. The mourners have the sympathy of the entire comunity. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 o'clock a. m. at the residence of Mr. J. B. Patterson. RETURNED TO ROOSEVELT. Phoenix, Ariz., Feb. 10 The commission of Benjamin Danials, twice confirmed by the U. S. sen ate to be United States marshal of Arizona, which has been forward ed to Chief Justice Webster Street, at Phoenix, for delivery to Daniels, was'today mailed back to Wash ington by Justice Street, in ac cordance with the request of the president. 1 THEODORE ROOSEVELT, JR. (A. P. A. Despatch.) Groton, Mass. Feb. 11 The con dition of the president's son show ed some improvement this morn ing. Secretary Cortelyou gave out the information that both tem perature and resperation is better. The disease has passed the climax in the left lung to the satisfaction of the physicians. Feb. 12. At 8:30 o'clock this morning that young Roosevelt had passed a very good night and his condition shows much improve ment. Mrs. Roosevelt to-day seemed more cheerful than at any time since her arrival, and said: "My boy shows much improve ment and rested well during the nigh." HORRIBLE HOMICIDE. T. J. Riley Beaten and Kicked to Death by J 0. fcintosh- Another of those deplorable tragedies for which Clifton is be-, coining' notorious, occurred at the Richel ieu saloon. Monaj' nighty which terminated in the death of T. J. Riley, a traveling1 photo grapher, who had been residing m Northern Clifton lor the past two months. From the best information ob tamable it seems tnat KUev was drinking heavily, and while in the Richheu made some remark to Mrs. Mcintosh who runs a crap game in the house to which her husband took exceptions. Word followed, when Mcintosh knock ed ixuev down, tnen lumped on him with both feet and also kick ed him in the stomach. Parties present caurht Mcintosh and forced him to desist, when a scuf fle ensued, and it is said that more trouble of a serious nature was prevented by tue timely in terference of the proprietor of the house. Riley was found to be un- concious, and was taken to the hospital, wThere he died Wednes day afternoon. At the time it was not thought that the injuries would prove fatal. Thursday morning- how ever, Constable Hamilton swore out a warrant for the arrest of Mcintosh, who had gone to Mo rinci, to look after some games in which he is interested. The con stable followed him to Morinci, but found that he had voluntarily surrendered to Deputy Sheriffs Hobbs and Keppler, who brought him to Clifton Wednesday morn iiig. Mcintosh waived his prelimi- nar3r examination, and was re manded to jail without bail. James Ramsey an old timer of this place, was a welcome visitor to his many friends.
