The Suicide on Third Street Identified us J. It. Yeoman*. The man who committed suicide on Thurs day morning in the Natick House at 246 Third street, and was supposed tubenamed Howard, was identified yesterday at the Morgue as J. 15. Yeoruans, who formerly owned dives on Kearny street. Yeomans was proprietor of the Olympic underground theater at 105 Grant avenue for years, and later the New London saloon, lie also kept similar places on Kearny street, but about two months neo sold out his places to Jim Carr and Ed Brink. He immediately started iff on a nrntracied spree, and several times was placed in the Home for the Inebriate to sober up. While drunk in a saloon on Third street he was robbed of the proceeds of the sale of las place. Some of his associates stated nt the Morgue yeMenlny that the waleb and chain, which he slated in his "dying statement," a letter written Immediately before death, were stolen with his money, are in the pos session of his friends. So the supposition is that he had no money at the time of his death. He hnd complained that tho loss of his money made him despondent. The real cause of bis despondency Is be lieved to have been his jilting by Maggie Smith, a waitress, who went to Seattle «illi a young German n few weeks ago. Yro iiians owed large sums of mouey to peonle in this city. i tnpi i»v me BmldlncSi At the next meeting of tlio Itoard of Su pervisors there will be presented an amend ment to Section 25, Order 11*17, regarding the law of the lire limit?.
