' . < THE SUIT COMPROMISED. End of a Land Squabble Between John Todd and James P. Hale. A compromise has been eflected of the suit between John Todd and the estate of the late millionaire. Joseph P. Hale, to determine the title toa fifty-varu lot on the corner of McAl lister and Larkin streets. Both Todd and Hale claimed an undivided half interest in this property, and prior to Hale's death Todd brought suit to havu the courts pass uiion the tnle. Hale defended the suit vigorously, as the properly is valued at $300,000. Ye-teiday, however. Mrs. Anals Hale, admin istratrix of the estate, went before Jimee Cotfey with a statement lo the eftect that Toild would agree lo compromise the suit for $4000. As the estate's attorneys advised Mrs. Hale to adot>t this course. Judge C'otley made an order direct ing that tlie compromise be elfected.
