Had a Narrow Escape
Monsieur Joseph Menard had a narrow

day afternoon last in a runaway down
Main avenue Trulj it was the ride
of his life He started down the hill
from his residence driving his faithful
old family dpbbins in the phaeton
when the pole of the phaeton went
through the leathern keeper on the neck
yoke This let the phaeton run onto
the horses heels and they were off at
full speed JuBt in front of Knipples
