New Kind of Calomel
Safe and Delightful
The new kind of calomel, known
as Calotabs, retains all of the good
medicinal virtues ot the old style cal-

THE FIGHTING DAD
I used to think, when I thought at all,
Success was a wad of money,
Or a front-row seat in a senate hall,
Or a king's crown ain't it funny!
of the nauseating, disagreeable and
dangerous qualities. You can, there
fore, eat what you please and go
where you please, with no loss of time
from your work.
One Calotab at bedtime, with a swal
low of water that's all. Next morn
ing you awake feeling fine, your liver
cleansed, your system purified and 1
with a hearty appetite for breakfast.
Calotabs are sold only in original.
, sealed packages, price thirty-five cents
Your druggist recommends them and
will refund your money if you are
not delighted. (Advt.)

H'b the gospel truth I'm writin',
The one safe brand of success today
Is to win the war we're flghtin'.
An' so I'm strivin the best I can
To avoid such circumstances,
By doin' my work like an honest man
An' takin no foolish chances:
For I've got a youngster over there
Who counts on me as his backer,
An' since he's willin' to do his share.
I'm dammed if I'll be a slacker.
I don't give a cuss for a holiday
Or the old-time union hours;
I've sold my watch, an' I work away
To the limit of my powers.

not a great many cattle at the time
it was being worked, but I want U
tell you that since we have made
Dade, Broward, Monroe and a part of
Palm Beach county free, there ha:
been a development of dairy and beef
cattle herds of considerable import
ance. For the first time in the his
tory of those counties they can safe
ly ship in pure bred and high grade
cattle from the northern States.
"But what I want to particularly
call to your attention is the opportun
ity you have of helping to make a
wide white belt' across the red mau
of Florida next year. We are count
ing on Polk county to put on sys
tematic dipping of cattle early next
season, at the same time with Hills
borough, Osceola and Brevard coun-
ttes and divide the tick forces in the
"Why are we so earnest in our
campaign against the cattle tick? Be
cause it transmits a disease that kill
large numbers of the catle and stunts
all that survive. The quarantine was
originally put on to protect the cattle
industry in the northern States from
ticks carried there by our southern
cattle. That was before we knew
how to eradicate the ticks, but for 25
years we have demonstrated that
ticks can be eradicated, so you peo
ple will have to accept as a fact the
statement that it can be accomplished
in this county, and with your heartv
co-operation the ticks can be cleaned
out by autumn of next year. When
that is done you will not have to con
tinue dipping your cattle for ticks,
and the county expense will stop.
"Live stock is the real foundation
for development of this county, which
is primarily an agricultural county.
Live stock builds up the soil, and in
connection with your large trucking
operations will take care of the crop
that follows to the best advantage.
I want to make it plain to cverv
person here that we can accomplish
complete eradication of the cattle
ticks under your present open range
conditions just as easily as any other
way, and we want you to continue to
utilize the open range as long as it
is available to you.
"But, notwithstanding the fact that
Polk county is a great grazing coun
try, milk in the cans and butter from
northern States is being shipped in
here in large quantities to feed your
peopie. me dairymen are not t.

A number of Boards of Trade have

necessary before systematic work can
be taken up in any county.
"It takes organized leadership to
get results artd that is where vour
business organization can be of very
great benefit to the county at large
by taking the initiative in circulatine
petitions calling for an election this
fall, to be held in connection with the
general election, so it will not entail
tany additional expense on the county.
It will promote co-operation be
tween the business men and the men
in the country, and be a great help
all around. Getting this county re
