It has a population of about 10,000.
The census of 1915 gave it 7,214,
mating it rank at that tlme the fifth
city in the State.,
It has an altitude of 227 feet above
sea, level, is wonderfully healthful
and free from malaria.
It was incorporated in 1884, and Is
therefore a comparatively new town.
It has an iron working plant, em
ploying about 60 workmen, and at
present engaged with government
contracts.
It has railroad shops which dls

is the terminus of seven railroad di

railroad operatives.

fairs are satisfactorily managed.

It has a splendid telephone system
with about 1600 subscribers.
It has an automobile to every per

It has six beautiful fresh-water
lakes lying either wholly within the
