Ill HIE DAY'S NEWS" Dr. Simon Flexner, who will pre side at the annual meetine of thH American Association for the Ad vancement of Science opening at St. Louis today, is director of the lab oratories of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, and famed tor his investigations and discoveries In relation to bubonic plague, infantile paralysis, and other infectious dis eases. Dr. Flexner is native of Louisville and received his early medical training in the university of that city. Subsequently he pursued his studies at John Hopkins Univer sity and abroad. Previous to accept ing his present post at tho Rockefel ler Institute he had been attahed to the faculties of John Hopkins and the University of Pennsylvania and had filled high positions in several well known hospitals.
