PROTECT YOrR CIHLD- AND OTHERS I The beginning of school brings cough, and colds to many children. The suggestion is made that Lake land would be an ideal place in which to hold the 1921 session of the Florida Federation of Wesley Bible Clases. Why not?' Lakeland usually gets what she goes after, and the big Wes ley Bible classes should lead out in the matter. Their efforts would be seconded by the Chamber of Com merce and other organizations of the, city. Wesley Bible Class workers all ot er the state are becoming interested in the big federation of classes to be held at Gainesville on Oct. 12-14. A program of unusual interest has been arranged for the meeting, and the prediction is that this session will be the best of the six held in the state. Prof. P. M. Boyd, well-known song leader, will be in charge of the mtislc during the entire meeting. Dr. F. N. Parker, of Emory Uni versity, has accepted the invitation to deliver the opening address on the first night of the federation. His ad dress will follow a devotional service conducted by Rev. E. C. Calhoun, of Fort Pierce, and address of welcome and response by President T. F. Alexander, bf Tampa. A feature of Mr. Alexander's address will be the special message ot the president to the Wesleyans of the state. Dr. Park er, who makes the opening address is the man who came into unusual prom inence at the last session of the Gen eral Conference by declining to ac cept the position ot Bishop, after his election to that high office. The second day's session will open with devotional exercises by Rev. H. (,'. Hardin, ot Groveland, followed by j I a short business session, and then will come the departmental conferences after the same order as at the meet ing held in Tampa last year. The conference for elementary workers will be in charge of Miss Minnie E. Kennedy, superintendent of the elementary department of the M. E. church, South, Sunday school wrok; the intermediate-senior forces will be in charge of Rev. E. R. Stan ford, superintendent of that depart ment in the general work; and the Young People and Adult department will be in charge of Rev. W. C. Ow- en. superintendent ot the Young Peo ple's and Adult department, under di rection of the general board. These departmental conferences will be held two sessions each day of the federation, morning and after noon. At 8 o'clock on Tuesday, Dr. II. W. Cox, president-elect of Emory University, is scheduled to deliver land address, and on Monday evening an address will be delivered probably ib Miss Kennedy. At the 11 hour on Wednesday, Dr. W. C. Owen will make an address, following which the officers elected at an earlier hour will i be installed by Dr. S. W, Lawler, of i Tallahassee, president of the Confer ience Sunday School Board. I Considerable Interest is shown at the sessions of the federa I tion when officers are elected and the place for holding the next federation is selected. As it is a self entertain-; ing body there is usually very spirit ed rivalry among wide-awake towns , to secure the meeting. Dr. Therrell, Held secretary of the, Sunday school work in the state, id , one of the busiest men in the confer-1 i nee just at this time. He has the lust word in Florida Sunday school work, and he Is bending all his ener-1 gles to make the federation a big sue- j cess. j President Alexander, of Tampa, Is ' REAoy r FOR L , HIS .
