Presbyterian church departed yester
day for Fort Worth, Tex., where he
will attend the meeting of -the Gen
eral Assembly of the Presbyterian

wannee. He expects to be absent
about ten days. Friends wish him a
pleasant visit. Provision ha been
made for all Sunday services and
prayer meeting at the church during
the" absence of the pastor, hence
there will be no interruption.

A. Eckaige, a young man of fine
appearance, was fined $15 and costs
in the police court yesterday morn
ing for disorderly conduct He had
been caught prowling about the back
yard of Anton Mallem's place on
Lemon street after 12 o'clock at
night, and wa discovered by Mrs.
Saucer, Mallem's mother-in-law, who
uttered the sereem which resulted in
Eckarge's discovery and arrest.
The reason iiven for his presence in
this particular place at such an hour
at night did not appeal to Judge
Haskell as being reasonable.
Mrs. M. M. Jackson, proprietress
of White Springs, Fla., will deliver
a lecture on tho subject of temner
ance in this city at an early date.
Mrs. Jackson ha for a long time
worked with the W. C. T. V. ol
Maryland and since coming to Flor
ida has given valuable assistance in
the local option campaigns of the
state. Those who have enjoyed the
pleasure of hearing Mrs. Jackson un
hesitatingly pronounce her one of
the finest lecturer that they have
ever heard on this quetion. She
will undoubtedly be giveu a good
hearing jn Paiatka.
David S. Tlngley, who has been In
poor health lor some time, died at
his home Tuesday evening. May 9 b
of Bright disease. Mr Tingley was
born in Newark, X. J.. April 3rd,
1M.V.. In 1X74 he came to Florida, lo
cating in Paiatka. While there lie
married MU I.ulu M. Boyd in 18p3.
Mr. Tingley moved to San Mateo
where they have made their home
ever since. At one time he owned a
large and valuable orange grove and
was also iii the mercantile bui-iuess
with 8. W. Rowley for a uumberof
years. He wa a member of the
Baptist church of Paiatka, where he
had a great many friends. He
leaves a wife, son aod an older
brother, Mr. Will Tingley, of Ne
wark, N. J. Funeral service were
held at the house Thursday morning.
