Curt of !e- Soto County Florida. The German Revolution, A few days af:o the whole world was s tartled by the news thai the Ebert Government of Germany had been overthrown and a royalist re gime established at Berlin. The revolutionary movement was headed by D mediately upc claimed htmsv order to sec til nounced to ii Government would inerea Wolfgang, who, lm entering Berlin, pro Chancellor and, i:i popular support, an people that the new B truly democratic, productiveness and . conserve the rights of the n.' people; however, it was the belief that the movement wa archistic and that the claims i ocratic purpose, etc., were me ouflage intended io keep the of the people quiet until the r.ion- archisti secured a strangle-hold on the German nation. A remarkable feature of the revo lution was the fact that it succeeded in taking complete possession oi Berlin without firing a single rhot. The revolution was carefully pre pared at Doberitz, ne;(r Iivrlin, where a number of divi?,ionr, of the old im perial army were staiioned; and the; plans were quickly executed. Word of the plot reached the Ebert Gov-: eminent only a few hours in advance of the actual revolutionary move ment, and it was then too laic to take effective measures for its de- teat. Following an ultimatum de manding the immediate resignation of the entire Ebeit Government the ; revolutionists marched into Berlin and the old Government forces with drew without making any resistance. The people of Berlin seemed to look upon the matter without serious concern, and although some paraded the streets with flags and banners, most of the people continued with out interruption the pursuit of busi ness or pleasure, patronizing shops, theatres, etc., or performing their business duties as usual, apparently regarding the revolution as of no more consvquence than an ordinary street parade. For a day or two Government lead ers in Allied countries were much disturbed over the German situation, particularly as to the effect upon treaty enforcement. Soon however, it became apparent that the so-called revolution was a mere flash in the pan instead of a general conflagra tion. Ebert and the leaders of the old democratic government refused to compromise or negotiate with Its leaders in any way; organized labor started to fli;ht it with strikes; and Hindenburg and other leaders of the old imperial regime repudiated tin move and advised theMeaders to sub mit to the Ebert Government. As a result of all this, the revolution ended almost as suddenly as It began and, aside from the fact that revo, ,. hundred people in different pn'tr, of Germany were killed in local dis orders out of tli uprising, the whele matter is now regarded throughout Germany and the world at large a Inge farce. Reports regarding Kapp, the leader o: l he movement, are conflicting. One is to the effect i hat he has committed suicide. Start i'liiiititifi Macaroni Soon.
